Press Conference for Blues Week St. Louis

Stlblues.net partners with St. Louis Mayor, Francis Slay
(L to R, Dave Beardsley, Craig Caesar, Mayor Francis Slay, Steve Dettmers, Ralph Pfremmer)

Stlblues.net was on hand Wednesday for the press conference downtown in front of the newly named Peabody Opera House, formerly Keil Opera House. The place is getting a major face lift and it appropriately sits as a back drop to our cities recently announced cultural event, Bluesweek.

The 10-day celebration begins with the Blues Society Cocktail Reception at the historic St. Louis Union Station Grand Hall and will kick off the week with complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

The party continues on August 27-28, with the Saint Louis Bluesweek Festival on the steps of the historically significant Peabody Opera House. Both days will feature specially designed shows to honor the wide range of musical styles that were born in St. Louis. Each show will be a compilation of the area’s most well-known and influential Blues musicians. A variety of St. Louis restaurants and tasty beverages will be available for purchase.

Check out the Soulard Blues Cruise. This is gonna be a big night for Soulard.
